Eight people above an old print works

Kindling is a small, independent studio in Ravenmouth. We’ve been making brands, websites and campaigns here since 2014.

Two desks, one client and a borrowed printer.

Hattie started Kindling in 2014 in the back room of the Print Works, with Dev on the next desk and a brewery as the only client. Twelve years on, the brewery is still with us and so is the printer.

We’ve stayed small on purpose. Eight people means the ones who pitch your project are the ones who make it, and nobody has to manage the managers. When a job needs more hands, we bring in freelancers we’ve worked with for years.

What we believe

Four rules we actually stick to.

1

Say it plainly

If we can’t explain an idea in one sentence, it isn’t ready. That goes for our invoices too.

2

One brilliant thing

We’d rather make one thing people remember than ten things they scroll past.

3

Show work early

You’ll see rough sketches in week one. Big reveals are fun for agencies and risky for clients.

4

Leave on time

Good ideas come from rested people. We finish at half five and take Fridays off.
