02 How we work

Four steps, no black box.

The full process

Listen

We start with a workshop and a lot of questions. Who you’re for, what’s changed, what’s been tried before and what success looks like in a year.

1 to 2 weeks

Find the idea

One clear idea, shown three ways, with the thinking behind it. You choose a direction and we push it until it’s unmistakably yours.

2 to 4 weeks

Make it

Design, words, code and film, made by the same small team that pitched the idea. You see work every week, not once a month.

4 to 12 weeks

Launch and look after

We launch with you, hand over everything you need to run it, then check in at one, three and six months.

Four-day weeks on full pay, a training budget of £1,500 a year and a studio above an old print works with very good light. We’d love to hear from you even if there’s no role below that fits.

Life at the studio

Full time, Ravenmouth, £36,000 to £42,000

Mid-weight designer

Two or more years in a studio, a portfolio with brand and digital work, and opinions about type.

Three months from January, hybrid, £400 a day

Freelance motion designer

After Effects and a feel for timing. You’ll animate two identities and a campaign.
